  1. What is Projects?

    Projects goes beyond the traditional project management space. Of course it also offers great planning and reporting capabilities but Projects is better because it is 'social'. For example, Projects allows users to post their working status and allows project members to chat with each other. The Project Stream helps all the team members get instant updates about what’s going on with the project. And you can keep all content organized and accessible by centrally posting files and easily creating a project web page or documentation

  2. How do I get started with Projects?

    1. You can get started by clicking on the Subscribe Now and by filling in some basic information like e-mail address to create your Projects account. Projects offers the following features to get started :

    Projects support different browsers like Internet Explorer, FireFox, Safari and Opera.
  4. What languages is Projects available in?

    Projects supports 16 different languages like Chinese, Czech, Danish, Dutch, English(US), French, German, Italian, Japanese, Polish, Portuguese, Portuguese(Brazil), Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.
  5. How can I change the Portal URL?

    The Portal URL can be changed only by portal administrator

    To change the portal URL :

    1. Click on Settings link and this will open up General Settings (by default)
    2. Select Company Profile tab
    3. Now in this click Portal Url Change link
    4. In this typein the URL name you wish have and click on Change Url icon.

    Your new portal name will get displayed for your portal.
    Note: No special characters allowed in portal URL
  6. Is it possible to have multiple administrators for a project?

    Yes. There can be multiple administrators for a project.
    To add another user as administrator :
    1. Click "Settings" link on the top right of the window
    2. In this click "people view" tab now click on "edit icon" for the required user and select Administrator role.
  7. Can I change the portal owner in Projects ?

    Yes. You need to be an portal administrator to change the portal owner
    To change the portal owner :
    1. Go to Settings Tab and click on the Company Profile tab
    2. Click Portal Owner Change link
    3. Select the new portal owner and click on Change Portal Owner button

    This will update the new portal owner.
    Note : Portal Owner Change is enabled only for paid plans

  1. For how long can I use the 'Trial' Projects edition?

  1. For how long can I use the 'Trial' Projects edition?

    You can Signup for a Trial Project - Unlimited Users. This plan is FREE for 14 days with unlimited users. You can manage one project, upload files upto 100MB disk space but Project Templates, Documents and Timesheet features are disabled for this plan.
  2. How can I upgrade to a higher plan ?

    The portal owner is the only person who can upgrade the account.

    To upgrade your plan :
    1. Login to http://mybusiness.tataindicombroadband.com/index.aspx
    2. Go to Manage My Services, select the Project plan and click on Upgrade
    3. Select the plan you want to upgrade to and click on upgrade, Pricing and Plan details are available on http://mybusiness.tataindicombroadband.com/price_list.aspx

    Note : You can upgrade from any level to any level at any time.
  3. What happens when I upgrade chat(s)?

    When you upgrade Chat addon, the amount will be transacted immediately for chat. From next billing period onwards chat amount will also be transacted along with project plan amount.

  4. What happens when I upgrade wiki(s)?

    When you upgrade Wiki Addon, the amount will be transacted immediately for wiki. From next billing period onwards wiki amount will also be transacted along with project plan amount.

Task and Milestone

  1. I cannot expand and see tasks present in my taskslist?
  2. I added tasks but they are not visible in task dependency view?
  3. How can I see notes/documents/forums posts associated for a task?
  4. Can I move tasks between projects?
  5. Is it possible to set dependencies between taskslist / milestones?
  1. I cannot expand and see tasks present in my taskslist?

    When you click on Collapse Tasklist link this takes precedence to individual expand option of each tasklist. For this you need click on the Expand Taskslist link present in the top panel and this will expand all your taskslist.
  2. I added tasks but they are not visible in task dependency view?

    We do not show any tasks in dependency view without proper dates. You need to add proper dates for the tasks so that it can be shown in dependency view.
  3. How can I see notes/documents/forums posts associated for a task?

    You need to click on yellow colored icon in front of the task name to see the associated notes / documents / forum posts for a particular task.

  4. Can I move tasks between projects?

    No. You cannot move tasks between projects.
  5. Is it possible to set dependencies between taskslist / milestones?

    No. It is not possible to set dependencies between taskslist / milestones.

Document Management

  1. Can I have more disk space for an existing plan if it exceeds the allocated limit ?
  2. What file types are supported in Projects ?
  3. How can I import my files from Google Docs into Projects ??
  4. What will happen If I tried uploading a different filename using Upload Latest Version ?
  5. Do you include support for sub-folders in Projects ?
  1. Can I have more disk space for an existing plan if it exceeds the allocated limit ?

    No. If your disk space exceeds the allocated limit for an existing plan, then you may need to upgrade to a higher plan to get more disk space.
  2. What file types are supported in Projects ?

    You can upload any file types like .doc, .xls, .xlsx, .docx .pdf, .pps, .ppt, .avi, .jpeg, .wmv etc
  3. How can I import my files from Google Docs into Projects ?

    To upload your documents from Google Docs into Projects :
    1. Click on Upload New File
    2. In this select "Browse using Google Docs"
    3. Provide your Google login credentials to access documents from Google Docs
    4. Select the files and upload them into Projects.

  4. What will happen If I tried uploading a different filename using Upload latest version option ?

    If you upload a file with a different name or file type a warning message "Filename mismatch" will get displayed.
  5. Do you include support for sub-folders in Projects ?

    Currently, we do not support sub-folders for documents and we might include this option in one of our future updates.

Users

  1. What are the privileges of a project user?

    The following are the privileges of a project user:
    1. Add tasks and milestones
    2. Upload and access documents
    3. Post a forum topic and send comments
    4. Create, and collaborate using wiki and chat
    5. Add notes, schedule meetings and log entries in timesheet for a project

  2. What are the privileges of a client user?

    The following are the privileges of a client user:
    1. See tasks and milestones of a project
    2. Access project documents and dashboard
    3. Collaborate using wiki and chat
    4. Look at timesheet entries (read only view)

  3. I deleted a client user and tried to add him/her as a project user but could not do so ?

    The message "user already added as client to this organization" is displayed because you would have deleted (removed) the user only from the project and not from the entire organization. To delete a client user :
    1. Go to 'All Users' section
    2. In this select Company Clients tab
    3. Choose the client user and delete them
    4. Now add the user as project member in the required project.

  4. Can I delete a project user and add him/her as a client user and vice versa ?

    Yes. You can delete a project / client user and can add them again as a client / project user. For this follow the steps below

    To add a client user :
    1. Go to All Users section
    2. In this select Company Users tab
    3. Click on Add link and add the email id of the client user.

    To add a project user :
    1. Go to All Users section
    2. In this select Project Users tab
    3. Click on Add link and add the email id of the project user.

  5. I was invited to join a portal but could not find the invite mail ?

    The invite mail is a system generated mail sent from Projects along with username and password. Sometimes this mail would have landed in your SPAM folder . Hence we request you to check your SPAM folder for the invite mail.

  6. I got an invite mail but project portal denies access for me?

    The portal owner who invited you to their portal would have forgot to add you as part of their project hence access is denied for you.
    To get an access you need to request the portal owner to add you as a member to their project.
  7. Being a client user I am not able to see the tasks of a project ?

    Only milestones marked as External is accessible for client users and not otherwise.

Import Microsoft Project

  1. Can I import subtasks from my MPP file?
  2. Can I import empty tasks and dependencies?
  3. How are independent tasks imported into Projects?
  4. Can I import associated notes, priority, percentage completion and constraints?
  1. Can I import subtasks from my MPP file?

    Yes. But the subtasks are handled as Taskslist and tasks. If the substasks span beyond one level then they are imported as separate taskslist and tasks.
  2. Can I import empty tasks and dependencies?

    No. You cannot import empty tasks and its associated dependencies into Projects.
  3. How are independent tasks imported into Projects?

    When independent tasks are imported, then MPP filename will be set as the default tasklist name for such tasks.
  4. Can I import associated notes, priority and percentage completion, constraints?

    Yes. Notes,percentage completion and priority will be imported from your MPP file. But the constraints of a task will not be imported as Project does not currently support this feature.
