  1. What is Web 2 SMS? 

    Web2SMS is a SMS service which enables users to send instant SMS messages to any mobile phone/network in India. All SMS messages sent using this service does not include any promotional tag line.

  3. Should I put a "0" in front of the number after the country or STD code?

    No. The format for each number must be country code only, which is already entered and the mobile phone number or the fixed phone number, for example country code 91 and mobile or a fixed phone number would give 919223055600 - if your network/STD code begins with a ‘0’ it should be omitted

  4. What is the maximum length of an SMS message?

    Standard SMS messages are 160 characters long. We allow messages of up to 160 characters long in order to include your identity, your user ID is inserted which forms a part of the 160 characters.


  5. Is there a limit on how many messages I can send?

    TNo. Send as many messages as you want to as many people as you want. However, spamming and abusive messaging is strictly not allowed.

  6. I get the an error message while sending SMS or going back , what does this mean and how can I prevent this?

    If you have already sent your message and tried to go back to send it again, you will receive this error. However, some messages appear because your browser is not compatible with our service. Check that you have cookies enabled on your PC, and try emptying your browser cache. For best results, use Internet Explorer.

  7. Can I get a confirmation whether my messages have been received?

    We only guarantee sending the SMS to the intended service provider. This is confirmed when the successful sending of SMS is displayed after the submit button is clicked. Remember, delivery can sometimes be delayed, even if your SMS was sent to the mobile network instantly. This is dependent on the recipients’ network loads. In case you experience difficulties in sending SMS, or SMS are not received please contact customer care.


  8. I use this serviceto send text messages often. Can I maintain all phone numbers?

    Just turn on the auto complete feature of your browser. This will save all entries of phone numbers on the mobile number label.
  9. Is it possible to send the same message to more than one number at a time?

    Yes. You can upload your contacts from the bulk upload link and also send SMS to multiple users at a go.
  10. Can I receive replies to the sent messages while using this service?

    No this service is not currently active, replying messages sent using this service will yield no result.

  11. How do I create users for sending SMS from my account.
    Login to your account at http://mybusiness.tataindicombroadband.com/Mybusinessv3 and click on the link ‘Click Here to Manage Services’ at the top of the page. On this page under the Web2SMS table click on Manage link to create users for sending SMS.
  12. What is the parent ID in the web2sms interface?

    The Username filed is the user you have created at the control panel for using your service. The password should be the one you have set for this admin user you have already created . The Parent User ID is the access username which you use to connect to the internet. Eg. vishal@vsnl.net If you have not created a user then use your this username for both the ‘Username’ and ‘Parent User ID’ fields. Use the complete username ‘vishal@vsnl.net’
